University of California, Irvine
As with many college campuses, parking at the University of California, Irvine is at a premium. Parking availability is on a “first come” basis. Carpooling is highly recommended.
For conference events on the UC Irvine campus, the Mesa Parking Structure, located on Mesa Road adjacent to the Bren Events Center, is recommended. The address is approximately 4000 Mesa Road, Irvine, CA 92617.
Parking Permits
- A valid parking permit is required at all times when parking anywhere on campus, including the Mesa Parking Structure — this is strictly enforced.
- Permits can be purchased on-site at the parking kiosks or dispensers located at the structure, or online before arrival through UCI’s parking system or ParkByPlate.
Important Notes
- Guest or visitor passes are typically purchased at the kiosk when you enter.
- Parking policies apply 24/7 — unauthorized vehicles without a permit may receive a citation.
Tips for Arrival
- Try to arrive a few minutes early for busy events — the Mesa structure fills up quickly for popular campus activities.
- If you are unsure about parking or need a permit in advance, feel free to reach out to UCI Transportation Services at parking@uci.edu or consult the interactive campus parking map online.
On-Campus Dining and Coffee
Main Dining Halls*
UCI operates two large dining commons during the summer that serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner:
- Brandywine Dining Hall (Middle Earth) – Multiple food stations, including made-to-order grill, salad bar, and international cuisine.
- The Anteatery (Mesa Court) – Similar offerings with rotating menus that typically include favorites like tacos, salads, and comfort dishes.
*These are great for full meals and offer a variety of choices each day.
Student Center & Retail Dining Options*
The Student Center and surrounding food courts have several casual, quick-service options you can use for grab-and-go or sit-down meals:
- Anthill Pub & Grille – American fare in a casual pub setting
- Starbucks – Coffee, tea, pastries, and light snacks
- Bento Sushi – Fresh sushi and poke bowls
- Jamba Juice – Smoothies and juices
- Planteatery – Salads and vegetarian options
- Burgers + Fries – Classic burgers and fries
- Panda Express – Chinese fast casual
- Subway – Sandwiches made to order
- Zot N Go Market – Convenience store with snacks, drinks, and ready-to-eat items
*These spots are ideal between rehearsals or for snacks and drinks.
Tips for Your Visit
- Summer hours can be more limited than regular quarters, so some retail locations may have shorter schedules.
- If your group plans to eat multiple meals in the dining halls, we recommend planning around breakfast, lunch, and dinner service windows at Brandywine and The Anteatery.
- For variety outside of campus, there are many restaurants within short walking distance at the University Center and nearby areas.
