Jessica Zeller (MFA, PhD) is an Associate Professor of Dance in the TCU School for Classical & Contemporary Dance. Her current research brings ballet into dialogue with progressive pedagogies and aligns with her teaching in ballet technique, repertoire, and Dance Studies coursework. Zeller’s 2016 monograph, Shapes of American Ballet: Teachers and Training before Balanchine (Oxford University Press), unearths the work of several European and Russian ballet pedagogues during the first few decades of the twentieth century in the United States. She served on the Dance Chronicle advisory board from 2016-2019 and currently serves as a peer-reviewer for Oxford University Press and the Journal of Dance Education. Zeller has been an active member of CORPS de Ballet, International, since she joined the membership in 2010.
